The compartmentalizing is sufficient, not too much that I lose gear, but enough that i don't have to dig at the bottom for the small things. It's a bit warm on the back, but what isn't this part of the world. It's definitely much better ventilated than some packs i've tried.
Out of all the packs I've owned this has the most comfortable straps - an absolute pleasure to wear!
I've also used Trekpak dividers to covert it into a camera backpack. The padded lining inside the main compartment is doubly effective for camera gear.
